Description |
fprobe contains a flaw that may allow a remote denial of service. The issue is triggered when specially crafted data containing many hash collisions occurs and is due to vulnerable xor8, xor16, and crc16 hash implementations. This will result in loss of availability for the platform by causing a large amount of CPU usage.

Solution |
Upgrade to version 1.1 or higher, as it has been reported to fix the crc16 vulnerability and changes crc16 to the default hashing algorithm. An upgrade is required as there are no known workarounds. The xor8 and xor16 hash algorithms are currently vulnerable in version 1.1 and there is no known patch or upgrade to fix this problem.
