Description |
Phorum contains a flaw that may allow a remote attacker to carry out an SQL injection attack. The issue is due to the 'search.php' script not properly sanitizing user-supplied input to the 'forum_ids' variable. This may allow a remote attacker to inject or manipulate SQL queries in the backend database.

This vulnerability is only present when the register_globals PHP option is set to 'on'. This has not been the default setting for PHP installs since version 4.2.0 (22-Apr-2002).

Upgrade to version 5.0.21 or higher, as it has been reported to fix this vulnerability. An upgrade is required as there are no known workarounds.
