Description

Beehive Forum contains a flaw that may allow an attacker to carry out an SQL injection attack. The issue is due to the index.php script not properly sanitizing user-supplied input to the 'user_sess' variable. This may allow an attacker to inject or manipulate SQL queries in the backend database.

Technical

This vulnerability is only present when the register_globals PHP option is set to 'on'. This has not been the default setting for PHP installs since version 4.2.0 (22-Apr-2002).

Solution

Upgrade to version 0.6.3 or higher, as it has been reported to fix this vulnerability. An upgrade is required as there are no known workarounds.
