Description

Proxim Wireless Access Points contain a flaw that may allow a malicious user to gain access to the wireless network. The issue is triggered when when 802.1x is enabled but WEP is disabled. If these conditions are met, a static WEP key of '12345' can be used to circumvent the authentication mechanism. This flaw may lead to a loss of Integrity.

Solution

Upgrade to version 2.5.5 or higher when running AP-600 or AP-2000 Access Points, or to 3.1 or higher when running AP-700 or AP-4000 Access Points, as it has been reported to fix this vulnerability. An upgrade is required as there are no known workarounds.
