Description |
GBrowse contains a flaw that allows a remote attacker to access arbitrary files outside of the web path. The issue is due to the gbrowse script not properly sanitizing user input, specifically traversal style attacks (../../) supplied via the "help" variable.

This issue was reportedly fixed in version 1.53, however the vendor later discovered it was only partially fixed and further refined the solution which was released in 1.54

Upgrade to version 1.54 or higher, as it has been reported to fix this vulnerability. An upgrade is required as there are no known workarounds.
