Description

Nessus contains a flaw that allows a local user to create a denial of service to the scanner. The condition is due to a flaw in the Nessus Attack Scripting Language (NASL) engine when the "plugins_upload" option is enabled. A local attacker can provide a long "proto" argument to the scanner_add_port() function and cause the NASL to crash.

Solution

Upgrade to version 2.0.6 or higher, as it has been reported to fix this vulnerability. An upgrade is required as there are no known workarounds.
