Description |
edit-x contains a flaw that may allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary commands. The issue is due to edit_address.php script not properly sanitizing user input supplied to the 'include_dir' variable. This may allow an attacker to include a file from a remote host that contains arbitrary commands which will be executed by the vulnerable script.

This vulnerability is only present when the allow_url_fopen PHP option is 'on', which is not the default setting in PHP.

Solution |
Upgrade to version v2007 or higher, as it has been reported to fix this vulnerability. Note that this flaw was fixed in versions available on or after 2007-09-11 without a change in version number. An upgrade is required as there are no known workarounds.
