Description |
A remote overflow exists in Exim. The issue is due to a boundary error within a routine for header syntax checking resulting in a buffer overflow. With a specially crafted request, an attacker can cause arbitrary code execution resulting in a loss of confidentiality and integrity.

Currently, there are no known upgrades or patches to correct this issue. It is possible to correct the flaw by implementing the following workaround:
Make sure you don't have the following options in the exim configuration file:
For version 3.35: headers_check_syntax
For version 4.32: require verify = header_syntax
