Description

BSD contains a flaw that may lead to an unauthorized information disclosure. The issue is triggered when a malicious user uses the cat command to view the output of a victim user terminal, resulting in a loss of confidentiality.

Solution

Currently, there are no known upgrades or patches to correct this issue. It is possible to correct the flaw by implementing the following workaround: chown the slave pty to the program's effective uid/gid, chmod it to 0600, and 'vhangup' anything currently connected.
