A memory corruption flaw exists in Mac OS X. The Apple Type Service (ATS) fails to sanitize user-supplied input when handling data-font files resulting in memory corruption. With a specially crafted font opened by Font Book, a context-dependent attacker can cause a denial of service or potentially execute arbitrary code.

Upgrade to version 10.7.3 or higher, as it has been reported to fix this vulnerability. In addition, Apple has released a patch for some older versions.
